Our Vision, Mission and Values of Okulaba e.V.

On a rainy weekend in June this year of 2024, the working group of Okulaba came together to discuss our Vision, Mission and Values. It was a heated discussion filled with passionate engagement, diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to our mission.

We laughed, got serious debated deeply and brought forward so many creative ideas that, by the end, everyone felt both exhausted and inspired.

This workshop wasn’t just about words on paper; it was a heartfelt exchange that reminded us of why we are here.

I am proud of you all: Esther, Ben, Dehina, Martina, Frank and Beate. Your dedication and openness made this process truly meaningful.

The end result was a powerful and unifying statement:

“Caring for all, to learn and grow, for a better life in every corner of the world.”

This slogan beautifully captures the essence of what Okulaba stands for a commitment to empathy, continuous support, so that people everywhere get a chance to grow and enhance their lives. It is more than just a set of words; it is a call to action that resonates with each of us.

I love it and cannot tire of saying it out loud. It is a mantra that will guide us as we continue to work towards a more inclusive and equitable future.

Together, we are stronger and together we can make a difference.
