The Mubende story continues…

As our name, 'Okulaba,' suggests, we continue to reflect on the progress made since the end of 2023.

Our second fundraising initiative, 'Raise the Roof,' for Good Shepherd Elementary School in Mubende, has been a resounding success. This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our beloved private donors and partnering companies. Okulaba e.V. sincerely appreciates your decision to contribute to this noble cause, even while juggling other commitments.

We would like to share an update on how your generous donations were utilized. Please remember that 100% of the funds raised go directly to their intended purpose—there are no administrative costs covered by donor contributions. These are met entirely by membership fees.

The beautiful story continues.

All classrooms now have ceilings and are properly insulated, allowing the children to learn and focus on their lessons without disruptions from adjacent classes or outside noise.

Additionally, the remaining funds were used to plaster the exterior walls of the school building and the teachers' quarters. This included repairing the columns, which had deteriorated due to weather exposure. Painting of the entire school, both inside and out, is currently underway. We will keep you updated on the progress.

The school is now functioning more effectively, and the students are actively participating in a variety of extracurricular activities such as handicrafts, singing, growing their own vegetables, and much more.
